The Pinzgauer started life over 30 years ago as a Haflinger, a small all-terrain vehicle that won instant recognition for it's outstanding abilities. The Haflinger was so successful that a larger version was created in 1970 and named the Pinzgauer, after a strong and popular Austrian workhorse known for it's good nature.

The Pinzgauer has gained an excellent reputation in over 100 countries and is renowned by military experts and serious sportsmen for its reliability, climbing ability and flexibility.  It says a lot about a vehicle who's same basic design is still being produced some 35 years later.

The versatile do-all and be-all truck from Mercedes Benz, UNIMOG is an acronym for UNIversal-MOtorGerät a German phrase which means Universal-Power-Unit. UNIMOG began life in the late 1940's as a tractor for farm use that could be used to transport the crops to market. UNIMOGs are widely used today by Militaries and Municipalities for a variety of tasks.

The Mercedes Benz UNIMOG was and still is ahead of its time. The UNIMOG is superior to any other off-road truck in the world.  If you need to move men and materials over heavy terrain, the UNIMOG is the workhorse that is up to the challenge.

Mercedes developed the Geländewagen  (the G-wagen or G-Class for short) for specialty use in the mid-1970s. Built on a rugged steel frame and bearing a body composed of angular metal panels, the Geländewagen has become an essential motor tool for mobile armies around the world.

The G-Wagen's four-wheel-drive, differential locks and performance capabilities, mean that drivers can feel comfortable while taming the extremes of the remotest areas on Earth.

The German word "Gelandewagen," roughly translates to off-road car. A simple name for an sophisticated work of art.
